Modular Outlaw is a racing class for extremely modified vehicles. This class is ultimately to find out who has the fastest non-tube chassis late-model modular based V8 overhead-cam engine vehicle in the country.
Qualifying Information, Ladder Type, & Tree.
All Run, NHRA Pro Ladder, NHRA Pro .400 tree, Heads-Up, 1/8 mile, Courtesy Stage (Encouraged).
Any non-tube chassis vehicle with a late-model modular based V8 overhead-cam engine. Dragsters prohibited.
Fox Body and others vehicle swaps permitted.

Engine must be a Modular 4.6/5.0/5.4/5.8 based V-8 Ford engine. Internal modifications are permitted.
Any radiator, water pump, and cooling fan/fans permitted. Engine cooling system can be contained inside the engine compartment or trunk. Radiator support may be modified or removed. Inner fender wells in front of the strut towers may be removed.
Any header size/tubing permitted. Open headers, down pipe ok. Bumper/Fender exit ok.
OEM or aftermarket tank in trunk or stock location. Fuel cell in engine bay ok.
All fuels permitted. Add 25lbs for M1
Single turbocharger limited to 88mm maximum. *Garrett GTX GEN II/PTE XPR (using current X275 exhaust/turbine measurements). Turbocharger size will be verified by measuring the housing bore at the leading edge of the impeller wheel and must maintain the contour of the compressor housing. (Stepped compressor wheel prohibited) Inducer dimensions may not exceed 80.9/85.9mm/88.9mm and Exducer backing plate and blade tip to tip dimensions may not exceed 133mm on MID FRAME turbos except where noted. *The Garrett GTX GEN II/PTE XPR/Bullseye NLX Inducer dimensions may not exceed 85.9mm/88.9mm, Exducer backing plate dimensions may not exceed 133mm. The Exducer tip to tip measurements may not exceed 142.5mm. On mid-frame turbo claiming 85.9/88.9 on tip to tip inducer measurements the inspection tool must capture .200 of the blade tip to be eligible for the latest deductions in weight. (tech insp. discrection) On LARGE FRAME turbos the inducer may not exceed 85.9/88.9mm and Exducer dimensions may not exceed 141.224mm. The maximum diameter of the housing bore at the leading edge of the wheel may not exceed 2 mm more than the maximum allowable turbocharger size permitted. Inserts or reducers to achieve inlet or outlet dimensions prohibited. Compressor map groove will not exceed .250 of an inch. Any turbocharger entry may be asked to remove the compressor cover and/or turbine housing for inspection. The turbine wheel may not exceed 113mm X 103mm on ANY turbocharger. Turbine wheels are only allowed to be constructed of Inconel material. Billet aluminum compressor wheel/impeller permitted. Any inconsistent modifications to compressor or turbine wheel, blades, hubs, cover, or housing, beyond accepted commercially available manufacturing process, is PROHIBITED.
Cog or gear driven superchargers are permitted, must meet all factory inlet, outlet, and internal housing dimensions. Inserts or reducers to achieve inlet or outlet dimensions prohibited. Any type inter-cooler is permitted. Supercharger cannot be combined with nitrous oxide. Centrifugal superchargers are permitted. Screw superchargers are permitted.
Wet and dry permitted.
Air intake coolers and/or ice boxes allowed in passenger compartment.
OEM or bolt in 8.8 or 9 inch.
Any automatic or manual transmission permitted.
Aftermarket k-members permitted but must attach to the chassis using only the original factory OEM type mounting bolts in the factory mounting location. Motor plates ok. No part of the K-member may be permanently attached to the chassis. K-member may be modified in oil pan area to allow oil pan enlargement or removal.
OEM or tubular stock type control arms required which must be attached in stock location
OEM or aftermarket shocks/struts/springs permitted. May use coil overs.
STOCK TYPE SUSPENSION
Stock type suspension may utilize aftermarket, direct replacement type suspension components including aftermarket replacement shocks, springs, coil overs, and/or control arms. All stock type 3-link and 4- link suspensions may modify stock lateral angles and attachment points. Aftermarket torque arms permitted.
Permitted. Rear frame rails may be notched for clearance and must be in the factory location. Factory wheelbase must be maintained.
Frame rails may be altered forward of the strut towers ONLY. Sub-frames may be joined under car. If connector protrudes through floor, floor must be completely welded to connector. Stock front/rear sub-frames must remain stock, unaltered, and in stock location.
TIRES & WHEELS
Tires: 275 M/T Radial Pros or 28 x 10.5 slicks.
Spindle mount wheels allowed.
OEM steel (fiberglass/composite if OEM equipped) body shell required. Aftermarket body parts are permitted as long as it is factory appearing and are limited to hoods, front bumper covers, fenders, doors, and rear deck lids. Hood is required. Any rear wing permitted.
WINDSHIELD & WINDOWS
OEM glass or NHRA approved Lexan is required and must maintain a Ford OEM appearance. Optic Armor windows are ok. Braces allowed. If carbon fiber/fiberglass doors are used Lexan windows with supports allowed.
Stock, unaltered firewall required.
Trans brake, 2 step, and aftermarket ECU permitted.
